Description
Offered for your consideration is a fine pair of vintage model 104 multi-purpose kitchen shears or scissors from J.A. Henckels International. This is a scarce model that's not frequently seen. The shears were made in Brazil and it's a design that was very popular from the 1950's through the early 1970's. The design is also well-suited for use by sportsmen. The wing/bone notch is ideal for processing poultry, waterfowl, upland game birds, and small game. In addition to the wing notch, the design features a cap lifter, nut cracker, tabs for prying lids off or for use as a screwdriver, and integral raised small hammers on each handle for cracking ice, etc.The shears have seen only light use and they remain in excellent, original condition with no problems and just a bit of light storage wear as shown. The shears remain tight and sturdy with a very solid feel in the hand. The blades retain much of their deeply mirrored finish and they're free of any corrosion or pitting. The edges are free of any nicks, chips, dings, or damage and the shears cut beautifully. They have a smooth, clean cutting action and they're ready for immediate use. The handles retain over 95% of their original bright red paint, which is very unusual for this design. The pivot screw shows no signs of any stripping or marring.
The shears measure 8" in overall length in the closed position.
This is great example of this classic design and it would be ideal for the home kitchen or the sportsman. The design is also well-suited for use at a home bar.
A great pair of quality multi-purpose shears from this fine brand!
