M1917 US REMINGTON RIFLE BAYONET 1917 SCABBARD TRENCH SHOTGUN WINCHESTER

Description

You are bidding on a WWI US M1917 Remington rifle or trench shout gun bayonet and M1917 scabbard.
The bayonet is 21 ¾ inches long and the blade is 17 inches.
The blade and metal have been refinished to a greenish gray parkerization.
Most likely done during WWII, or after.
The blade has the factory slightly sharp edge.
It is marked US with the ordinance stamp and an X.
The other side is dated 1917 with the Remington in a circle.
The grips are a walnut and are in good condition with a chip by the screw.
They do have scratches and small dings.
The scabbard is marked US M1917.
This style scabbard was manufactured by Beckwith in 1945 and into the 1950’s.
The bayonet will also fit the M1917 Winchester or Eddystone rifles, M1897 trench shotgun and other manufactures of trench shotguns with the bayonet adapter.
