Model 1917 M1917 Bayonet - Trench gun, made for the Model 1917 US Rifle. This example was made by Remington These are identical to the Pattern 1913 bayonet for the British Pattern 1914 Enfield (aka, P14). The bayonet is original and came right out of military surplus stocks. The scabbard is a reproduction (considering original leather scabbards are usually deteriorated or dry-rotted after 100+ years). These bayonets were in use by US troops even up through Vietnam, being used on trench guns. The locking mechanism works great. The blade has staining from rust, but can be cleaned up nicely if desired. The ricasso retains nice original bluing from the factory, along with nice clear markings.
