    Description

Available is an original pre-WWI United States Army bolo knife that comes with its original canvas and leather scabbard.
The knife measures approximately 15 inches in length from the tip of the blade to the end of the handle/pommel.
The blade itself measures a touch over 10 1/8 inches long by 2 1/8 inches wide at its widest point.
The blade is marked, "US/2938" on two lines on one side and "SA/1911" (Springfield Armory/1911) on two lines with an ordinance stamp on the other side.
The knife has a wood handle with a blued blade. The canvas, metal, and leather scabbard comes complete with a M1910 brass belt hook.
One side of the scabbard is marked, "BRAUER BROS./1917/D.M.".
The locking mechanism for holding the scabbard in place is present and works properly.
The blade has been sharpened long ago for honest period use.
The guard and pommel are tight.
The wood handle is in solid condition.
The scabbard is also in nice shape showing light soiling and storage age.
Please be sure to check out the large pictures I have posted and judge condition for yourself.
This is a nice and rare example of an early bolo knife and would make a great additional to any collection.
