Used but in good condition and well cared for, (photos will validate this) in a nonsmoking environment.  Solid steel base with brass type hardware.
The ‘Cootie’ was developed to help those that were getting a ‘glass arm’ from hour after hour of sending messages on the straight key. (I believe Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is the new name.) The sideswiper is different than a straight key as it’s operated by swinging your thumb and forefinger back and forth for each dit and dah, (versus using either finger to strike the paddle twice). It was fun to learn. I’ve enjoyed this cootie but, I must thin out my collection. My loss can be your gain. It certainly is more comfortable to use a cootie than my straight key. I believe this key was constructed by N1DWJ and is numbered #038 under the base. Starting bid is much less than I paid for this. Good luck.
